Our friendly group meets every Sunday morning at 8.15 for a run or walk of about an hour and a quarter at venues which generally range from Otaki to Plimmerton.
After the Sunday exercise the group often retreats to a nearby café.
Members also from time to time attend events such as the Great Forest Run/Walk at Waitarere and the Wanganui Three Bridges.
Our annual subscription of $50 covers two paid morning teas and a Christmas breakfast. There are also occasional social events such as a mid-year dinner.
A weekly email keeps members up to date with news and upcoming events.
Members also have access to the Walking New Zealand magazine as well as a library of sports books, other non-fiction volumes and a few novels.

If you are thinking of becoming a new member, you can try us out for 2-3 weeks to see if it’s your thing. Our walkers group is quick and covers about 7kms at about 10 minute per km pace for approximately 1¼ hours. The group allows for occasional regroups at strategic points, to allow slower people to catch up. The runners cover about 10km in the 1¼ hours often breaking into smaller groups to cater for the range of ability. As with the walkers, there are regroups along the way.
Each walk and run is led by a member who has a good knowledge of the area where we are meeting.
